Who is Froeschner Creative?

A creative, full-service ad agency founded in 1989.

At Froeschner Creative, we believe great creative is not reserved for big companies and their big ad budgets. Small- and mid-sized businesses also deserve -- and, in fact, have a greater need for -- quality work and a strong branding message; a message that puts that business in position to win customers from their competitors, no matter how big those competitors are or in whatever industry it may be.

Since 1989, we’ve specialized in doing just that.  We’ve partnered with car dealerships, technology companies, service providers, funeral homes, schools, organizations, business product distributors in the B2B world, and many more, and we’ve helped each one identify their unique personality and strengthen their position in the marketplace.  Then, we provide a creative product that hits well above its weight class, so to speak, and we do it quickly, affordably, and without the hassles that come with dealing with a larger agency.

SES Case Study

SES is a distributor of security and other low voltage devices with 12 locations around the country. One of those locations is Chicago, where they have branches on both the North and South side. Chicago is obviously a huge market, and for years SES struggled to gain a strong foothold. SES prides itself on being different from their competitors because of their more personal approach to service, and we were always able to effectively get that message across in the other markets where they have a presence. Chicago, however, was always a more difficult nut to crack, and so it always required an ad message that was more personalized to the market.

Now, working in the B2B world presents a lot of advertising challenges because the audience is too small and specific for any type of mass media approach. In the case of SES and their particular industry, that is especially true. In fact, most low voltage installers don’t even need to Google a distributor to find one to work with because there aren’t that many, they know who all the players are, and they are generally loyal to one and shun the others. Direct mail is still the preferred and most effective way to reach this audience, and that’s what we relied on in this case.

This particular mailer was one of the most successful devices we created for SES, and it was also one of the simplest. Playing off the word CHICAGO, we designed 3 small post cards that were mailed over 3 weeks to prospects in the Chicagoland area, all with the basic invitation to simply stop by and give SES the chance to get to know them. The program was successful enough that it was repeated again later in the year. It wasn’t big and splashy, or expensive. It was clean, different, and perfectly suited to the objective. It “spoke” to the audience in a friendly, disarming way, and it properly reflected and communicated SES’s own unique personality.

To this day it is still a good example of how our approach to advertising can work for those businesses and organizations that can’t afford to spend a lot, but who need to stand out.
